One of our adoptees once asked, “What did my birth mother's expectations of me and my sister?” Without hesitation, their birth mother replied, “Always stay together. When they were with me, I always told the older sister to take care of her younger sister, and no matter what happened, to stay by each other’s side.”

Moments like these remind us of the profound, selfless love in 1 Kings 3:16–28. A mother’s love that holds nothing back and always seeks the absolute best for her children.

It was such a touching moment of love and devotion. For our adoptees, hearing these words directly from their birth mother is something they will carry and cherish throughout their lives.

We recalled an old song, “Devoted to You”, by The Everly Brothers. We hope the sisters will continue to build their relationship steadily like a river that never stops flowing.

And it will go the same to both families and their relationships.
