Understanding the Roots of Adoptees’ Emotional Needs

Understanding the Roots of Adoptees’ Emotional Needs

In our work, we encounter situations where birth families find it difficult to make or maintain contact with adoptees. Communication can be a slow and delicate process that requires time, patience, and mutual understanding.

Some birth mothers deeply wish to meet with their children, yet they may also experience inner conflicts or uncertainty. They often need time to reflect on their own emotional readiness and to understand the differences in life experiences and expectations between themselves and the adoptee. This process can be emotionally complex for everyone involved.

As you travel to Taiwan, we hope you remember that your journey is more than just a visit — it is also a rediscovery of your roots. These roots extend beyond your birth family to include a wider community that continues to care for you, especially CSS. We warmly welcome you to visit us, to get to know Taiwan, and to keep exploring the many layers of your story and identity.
