As a social worker

As a social worker, we're trained to be empathetic and understanding. However, truly feeling what others experience isn't as simple as our professional training might suggest. It's particularly challenging to fully grasp the intense anxiety birth families face when preparing to meet their loved ones after years apart.

Some of our birth mothers have shared their deeply personal experiences with us. One mother confided that she felt so nervous she thought she might faint as the meeting time approached. Another described feeling suffocated, her legs growing weaker with each step as she walked toward our office. What an intense anxiety. Our fullest supports are extremely important. CSS social workers will always give our fullest support to our birth and adoptive families.
